Christina Contreras was raised in the Rio Grande Valley, just minutes from the Texas and Mexico border. From an early age, she witnessed the challenges faced by families living without legal status, sparking her enduring passion for immigrant rights. Seeing members of her community endure exploitation and limited access to opportunity motivated her to dedicate her career to advocacy and justice.
While earning her law degree from Texas A&M School of Law in Fort Worth, Christina developed a deep understanding of the systemic barriers within U.S. immigration law. She recognized how difficult and overwhelming the process can be for immigrants navigating the system alone, especially when confronting the federal government without experienced legal representation.
